Tea for Four

For Martin Luther King Day, the girls and I spent the day cleaning while Daddy studied. They were such great helpers that I threw them a princess tea party to celebrate. We ate cucumber sandwiches, tea cakes (mini cupcakes) and drank, of course, herbal tea (echinacea... that's all we had... but, hey, we haven't been sick for months). Lady daringly tries the tea and decides that she doesn't like it. "May I have some milk, please?"
When I first poured the tea, Bell said "I don't like it." I said "how do you know if you like it or not when you haven't even tried it?" She tried some and not only liked it, she even asked for more!

Baby G wore her princess gown and tiara and LOVED the tea cakes (made with egg whites and applesauce). She even ate her cucumber sandwich. No tea, though. We tried to put her on whole milk since her birthday is this week... BIG mistake. It caused such an upset in her system that we're thinking of waiting another month before we give her cow's milk again. We didn't want to make things worse by throwing tea into the mix. Now what to do with all that whole milk? Clam chowda, anyone?

Why I hardly blog anymore

Some of you may remember the song from your childhood "Saturday is a special day, it's the day we get ready for Sunday." Today our family rose early and went right to work cleaning, grocery shopping, etc. By 3pm I was tuckered out (still not finished cleaning) and ready for a break. I sat down to the computer to read emails and was on the computer for maybe 10 minutes. In walked my sister-in-law and she picked up Baby G and said "it looks like Baby got into some chocolate." "Chocolate," I said, surprised, "we don't have any chocolate... I wonder what she picked up off the floor." In that short amount of time, my 3 year old daughters both pooped, tried to wipe themselves and got poop on the floor, and left the bathroom door open. Their baby sister, who loves the bathroom, went directly in and I don't think I have to fill in the details for you. I have the girls in their room, Baby is down for a nap, clean, fed (by bottle) and I am sitting here still wondering when it gets "easier." Oh, to long for the days when cleaning up a mess was picking up a few toys. This is part of the reason I hardly blog anymore... life has gotten so hectic and the material for blog entries is getting more... crazy. Baby will live and I will get over this foggy haze of disbelief.

New Year's Eve

Baby took her first two steps on New Year's Eve, twice. She can now stand up from sitting without holding on to anything. I just can't believe how fast she is growing up. She loves life and it shows in the big cheezy grin she flashes every time she's doing something she knows is forbidden. How we love our little Baby G.
