Are they identical?

The twins just had a check up where their height and weight were measured... they are exactly the same height, exactly the same weight. The nurse said: wow, they really are identical. I said "Actually, they're fraternal." She told me that was amazing because most of the identical twins that come in do not have the same height or weight. So now, I'm wondering... should I have them tested to find out? Does it matter? I dont' think they're identical because they look so different to me... but what do I know? Take the poll... I'm curious to see what y'all think.

Can't see how it makes much of a difference, other than curiosity. Is the test painful? That might be a determining factor.

They look similar to me, but what do I know. I see them in blog posts. (Sadly, so come for a visit!) On a side note, my friend with very identical twins is always amazed people can't tell them apart. I have to judge who is who by a random mole I scan their little faces for before I utter the wrong name. You their MOTHER, of course YOU can tell them apart.

Put up a picture of each in similar clothes and hair-do's and see how many of us guess properly. :-)

Dear Mommy of twins,
Being a twin I have been told far too many times that I am identical, when the doctors always told my sister, my mother and father and I that we were fraternal. We have come to the conclusion on our own that we are mirror image twins. We've read up and are absolutely confident that it's right on. I highly recommend the blood test. There are too many fraternal twins who look NOTHING alike..different hair, height, body type, eye color, etc. to think there isn't a HUGE chance your girls ARE identical.
Just the thoughts of a twin. But, then again, they could be fraternal...
