On Saturday, Baby G came to me and said "Mommy... pee-pee... potty," as she tugged on her diaper and led me to the bathroom. She tried to lift the toilet seat, so I knew she was serious. I took her diaper off and sat her on the potty. Nothing happened. I thought "well, at least she is getting used to the idea," and THEN (drum roll)... she peed in the potty. I laughed, I cried, I screamed. I thought these type of stories were only Urban Legends... but I can testify... they really do happen.
Now I don't expect her to be in panties any time soon, but the fact that she initiated the process at 19 months of age... is just so foreign to me.... and so de-light-ful. Miracles do happen!

The fact that she SAID those few words would be a miracle to me (and we're up to 27 months now)--let alone actually successfully completing the task. Congrats, mom.
Edward's been doing the same thing! No successes on the potty yet. A few on the floor. But he's asking! It's amazing what they learn from watching their older siblings.
FYI, I asked our dr about it (b/c I see him at work on occasion) and he said to jump on it. Compress what you'd usually do over a few months to prep them into a few weeks while they're still interested. I'm working hard to not miss the window!
I'm envious. I can't wait for the day that I don't have 2 in diapers! Miss you!
