I don't know what's crazier... taking our kids to the Big Apple, or posting this unflattering picture of myself on my blog. I swear it's the bad camera angle that makes me look heavier... or not. Anyway, I had visions of us visiting the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, etc, etc. What we actually did was probably the most fun for us (visiting our old neighborhood, including the grocery store... yep, everyone still speaks Spanish, the gas station where they pump your gas, and a drive by the old Parview Cafe... sigh) and most fun for the kids (visiting Toys R Us in Times Square). If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music. -Gustav Mahler

Fairview Cafe! We loved that place...
So fun! We are doing a NY trip this fall with the kids, but I am bringing my mom along to give us a chance to go a fancy schmancy dinner. :)I will definitely have her take Janie to that Toys R Us, it probably is the like the celestial kingdom of children.
